Texas Social Services signs contract with Value Options - Tuesday, October 03, 2006
Texas Social Services on Friday, September 29th, 2006, entered into a contract with NorthSTAR/Value Options to provide counseling services to children in the 7-county NorthSTAR managed care area.
Our organization works with low income families who many times fall between the cracks and who can’t afford to pay for counseling for their child. Yes, we do accept Texas Medicaid, Value Options, as well as private insurance. If you’re child is on the Free (or Reduced) School Lunch Program, your child would probably qualify for Texas Medicaid. The Texas Medicaid form can be downloaded from our web page.

Since the majority of our counseling in done in the schools, there is no need for the parent to miss work, drive to the child’s school and remove the child from school for a half day or whole day each week for a counseling session.

During the first counseling session, we ask the parents to come to the school. Counseling sessions are provided by licensed therapists to the student generally on a weekly basis.

If the therapist feels that the child needs to be evaluated by a licensed psychiatrist, we will refer the parents to several licensed psychiatrist’s that partner with us.

If you are a school, not-for-profit, association, police department, probation department, church or other entity that would like to refer a child to us, please send an email requesting a referral form to: info@texassocialservices.org.
