Texas Social Services is currently providing counseling for children between the ages of  5 and 18 who are having behavioral issues at home, at school or in the community.  We also provide counseling to adults ranging in age from 18 to 65.  Our organization is eligible to provide counseling to children in over 200 schools.

We also provide counseling to adults outside of the NorthSTAR service delivery area ranging in age fro 18 to 65.

Since we are a community-based organization, the initial intake meeting as well as all follow up visits are done either at the child's home, at school, or at our offices at a time and day agreed to by the parents and the Intake Manager.  After the initial interview has been completed and all of the information reviewed, a Therapist is assigned to help the child and family work through the problems that have been identified.  Most counseling sessions are provided by licensed therapists generally on a weekly basis.

If the therpaist feels that the child needs to be evaluated by a licensed psychiatrist, we will refer you to a licensed Psychiatrist and/or Psychologist for testing and evaluation.
